PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION OF NEW MEMBERS

BECOMING A MEMBER

Achieving membership in the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame is a four step procedure.  Successful candidates often find completing the process may take several years.

NOMINATION - Any interested person may submit a candidate for World Drum Corps Hall of Fame membership consideration by completing a 'Nomination Form' * on the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame website and obtaining the candidates confirmation.

* Forms are available on line and must be submitted online by January 15th to be considered for that calendar year.  Once submitted, applications remain active and do not need to be re-submitted annually.

SCREENING - The Screening Committee consists of three World Drum Corps Hall of Fame members, appointed by the Selection Committee Chairman and approved by the President.  This committee will carefully review all submitted applications.  Among other things this committee will verify the completeness and accuracy of the information provided.  Ultimately this committee will either return the application for additional information and clarification or forward the application to the appropriate Ballot Selection sub-committee.  To be considered for the current year, applications must be sent to the Ballot Selection Committee by February 15th.

BALLOT SELECTION - The Ballot Selection Committee consists of twelve World Drum Corps Hall of Fame members appointed by the Screening Committee Chairman and approved by the President.  These twelve members form four sub-committees with three members each focusing on Brass, Percussion, Visual and Administration.  Annually each sub-committee will review all active applications and select three outstanding nominees to be placed on the ballot.  These 12 nominees (three each, brass, percussion, visual and administration) are forwarded to the Selection Committee Chairman by March 15th.

VOTING - Each and every member of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame will receive electronic or hard copy ballots by April 1st.  Each member will cast a ballot for six of the twelve nominees.  All ballots must be returned by April 15th, late ballots will not be counted.

The top six votes will become the New Inductees for the current year (the President will break any ties).  By May 1st the President will notify all New Inductees, announce results to the membership and have the web-site updated to announce results to the public.
